Our Beers: Wapiti Amber Ale

What we commonly refer to as elk, are properly named Wapiti. Wapiti are abundant in Northern Arizona and are perhaps the most majestic wildlife native to this region. We chose the Wapiti to represent our Amber Ale for its strength and full-bodied character, but at the same time, a beer with finesse and elegance.

 

Mogollon Wapiti Amber Ale is hand brewed in small 600 gallon batches using abundant amounts of 2-Row barley malt with Boulander, Vienna , Caramel 120L, Carapils and Dark Chocolate malts to balance out the blend. We bitter with Galena hops, flavor with Tettnang, and aromatize with a combination of Tettnang and Crystal hops. The result is a full-bodied beer with a malty chanter, just the right amount of hops to balance the slightly sweet malt flavors.
